Cheryl, that is correct. The 1500 program will allow you to assign a cashier # to a code #. The machine is capable of up to 99 clerks/cashiers. However it only comes out of the box with 4. So unless a dealer has changed it for you that will of course stop you from programming more. To make the change for more than 4 you must have the service key, which does not come with the machine. They are availble for $10.00 plus shipping. Also you will need the program code to change it. We could include that with the key. But it is not always that simple. The machine shares available memory. You may have a lot of PLU's or depts programmed that will keep you from activating more clerks. There are reports that can be taken to determine that, again it requires the service key.

To answer your question I see no reason that you would not be able to change the code # already assigned to a cashier. You may want to "Z" out the cashiers first, both daily and monthly if it won't allow it. I have never come across a Sharp Cash Register that required a "Z" before a change, but some other machines do. I have never programmed the 450T.

Let me know what you find and if you need some more help (assuming this was helpful)

Never used a blog. Don't know if this is correct. We have 2 Sharp ER-A450T cash registers and I need to know if you can delete and/or re-use cash codes and/or change names in the 1500/1514 programming.
