SAM4s SPS-300 series how to videos and other resources

Welcome to the SAM4s SPS-300 series resource page. The SPS-300 series is made up of the SPS-320, SPS-340 and the SPS-345. Regardless of the model you have the programming is very much the same. For example changing the sales tax is the same whether you have a SPS-320 in a restaurant or a SPS-345 in a retail store with a bar code scanner.

Adjusting the screen contrast (blank screen). Often by accident cashiers will turn the contrast down or up so you can no longer see the screen, here is the simple steps to recover from that.

My Register is displaying CLOSED and won't work. Somehow you have logged off the active cashier. You may not even think you use cashiers but you use at least one. Please watch the video and learn how to log back in.

Programming PLUs (buttons and menu items) While these instructions work for the SPS-345 if programming UPCs please refer to the video specifically for UPC programming..

RAM Clear also known as Master Reset Please be aware that this procedure wipes out your programming. Please do not perform this procedure unless your register is not programmed or instructed by a technician.

Change or Set the Sales Tax Rate The SAM4s SPS-300 series can have four tax rates. This video will show you how to set the tax rate. Please be aware that having set a tax rate(s) is only part of the job, you must also program your PLU/UPCs to be taxable before the register will apply tax.

Backing up your register to a SD Card The SAM4s SPS-300 series can be backed up to an SD card. Many reasons to do this, first it is a true back up in case something happens to your register, second if you want to copy your program to another register you would use this.

Restoring a program from a SD CardYou can restore a program or clone a register from a SD card. If you have lots of machines to program this is a great time saving method.
