Tax Programming for the Sharp ER-A450T
Cash Register*

The Sharp ER-A450T can have 4 different tax rates. Make sure you
are programming the correct rate. Also make sure you program the
departments to be taxable by the correct tax rate. Just because you
program a tax rate into the Sharp ER-A450T does not mean it will
calculate tax, the department must also be programmed. Following
are the steps for Tax Programming of the Sharp ER-A450T Cash
Register.

  1. Turn the mode lock key to the PGM2 position
  2. Press 2711
  3. Press the .  (Decimal Button)
  4. Press the @/For button
  5. Press 1 (for tax rate one, replace with tax rate you wish to
    program)
  6. Press the @/For Button
  7. Enter the Tax Rate 00.0000 (DO NOT USE THE DECIMAL
    KEY. The decimal will be placed automatically example for
    8.8% you would enter 88000)
  8. Press the @/For Button
  9. Enter the lowest taxable amount. (In some states only amount
    above the minimum is taxable. So if in your state if anything
    over $0.50 is taxable you would enter 50, if everything over
    $0.01 is taxable enter 1)
  10. Press the Cash Key.
  11. Return the Mode Lock Key to the REG Position and test.


Here is an example of the keystrokes for programming  tax rate 1 for
8.8% in the Sharp ER-A450T cash register with everything of $0.01
and up being taxable. Remember the key must be in program mode.

2711 . @/for 1 @/For 88000 @/For 1 Cash

And again remember department keys must also be programmed to
charge tax or not.
